How GUST listings work

How GUST listings work

GUST is a discovery platform, not a certification body. We are transparent about where information comes from.

How a place gets on GUST

Most listings start as directory entries compiled by GUST from publicly available information — name, category, area and contact details. Those listings are marked Unclaimed.

Claiming a listing

  1. The business finds its listing, from a category page or a search.
  2. It chooses “Claim / Manage this listing” and signs in or creates an account.
  3. It sends an access request with a name, role, business email and phone number. No ID, registration documents or certificates are required.
  4. A GUST admin reviews the request. Nobody can approve their own access.
  5. Once approved, the listing becomes Claimed and that person can manage the business profile — and only that business.

🌱 Green Practices

A claimed business can list the green practices that apply to it — recycling, refill, local sourcing, repair, conservation and so on. These are provided and managed by the business.

GUST does not score, rate, rank or certify businesses. There is no “best” or “most sustainable” list, and green practices are not an endorsement, a guarantee, government approval or environmental certification. You see the information; the choice is yours.

Paid promotion is separate

Businesses may pay for clearly labelled Sponsored or Featured placement, premium profiles or analytics. Those payments never change the green practices shown on a listing.
